Uma das mais interessantes foi a de Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols entitulada Goodbye Mr. McNealy. Fala ela de como a Sun pegou no Unix, na sua versão universitária, o BSD, e com ele construiu o Sun OS e as workstations que levaram o TCP/IP e um sistema operativo de código aberto para as Universidades e depois para as empresas. De como a ideia da computação em rede e da liberdade de criar e modificar software cresceram. "I was there in the early days. When the Internet moved from college computer rooms into every home, when open source moved from being an academic curiosity to being a driving engine of software, and as I think of those days, I see Sun workstations and servers—pizza boxes we called them—running SunOS and Solaris, knitting the Net together. Lembro-me bem dos tempos em que "ninguém dava nada por aquilo". Sim, esse senhor ficará na história pelos melhores motivos (e também por algumas das bocas com que foi mimando os adversários, muitas vezes com razão, até).
